“Suan Sunandha Student Leaders Participate in Social Learning Camp in Samut Songkhram Province”

Suan Sunandha Student Representatives Participate in “Sufficiency Economy Learning Camp” in Samut Songkhram

On August 30–31, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, through the Student Development Division, Office of Student Affairs and Alumni, assigned Ms. Rungrat Phatthanaklan, staff member, along with Ms. Kanyanat Kaewprachum, Vice President of the Student Organization, and the Student Organization Committee for the 2025 academic year, to participate in the “Learning Society and Compassion: Sufficiency Economy Learning Activities” project. This event brought together student representatives from nine university networks to promote graduate quality development. The activity took place at Ruean Mai Chai Khlong Resort, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province.

On August 30, 2025, students participated in lectures and learning activities at the Amphawa Chaipattanurak Project. They were divided into groups to engage in hands-on activities and visited the Ban Saraphi Sufficiency Economy Learning Center, Bang Khonthi District, Samut Songkhram, where Mr. Suchon Sukasem, Chairman of the Center, provided guidance. Students also explored local community tourism at the Amphawa Floating Market on the same day.

On August 31, 2025, student leaders participated in group activities to reflect on and present lessons learned about the sufficiency economy philosophy. The event concluded with a summary of the project and community learning activities. Students also visited historical sites and paid respects to Luang Pho Nilmani (Luang Pho Dam) at Wat Bang Kung, Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram, and explored the Ubosot under the Bodhi tree, experiencing over 300 years of local art and culture.

The student representatives from the nine participating universities included: Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, Huachiew Chalermprakiet University, Siam University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Srisavarindhira Thai Red Cross College of Nursing, Civil Aviation Training Center, Geomap Institute of Technology, and the Naval Commerce Training Center.

Through this program, the nine universities emphasized the importance of applying the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in daily life. The project aimed to foster students’ understanding of balance in economic, social, environmental, and cultural aspects, integrating sufficiency economy principles into students’ lives. It encouraged students to live in harmony with others, appreciate resources, and learn from community-based and local wisdom activities.

This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, focusing on ensuring access to quality education for all children and young people at every level.
