Suan Sunandha Promotes Student-Led Local Development through Social Engineering Processes

On February 19, 2026, at the Pikanet Auditorium of Phranakhon Rajabhat University in Bangkok, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University participated in the Rattanakosin Rajabhat Universities Student Federation Seminar on Volunteerism for Local Development through Social Engineering and Relationship-Building Sports (1st Edition).

The delegation from Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Somsak Klaisang, Vice President for Student Affairs, together with Ms. Sujinan Jongaree, Head of the Student Activities and Alumni Affairs Section. They were joined by student leaders, members of the Student Council, and the Student Organization, including:

Mr. Worapoj Chuchuai, Public Administration student, College of Politics and Government, President of the Student Council
Mr. Thanat Phanthawan, Information Technology student, Faculty of Science and Technology, and other student representatives

The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Prueng Kijratporn, President of Phranakhon Rajabhat University.

During the seminar, participants engaged in knowledge-sharing discussions on strategies to strengthen student development activities among the Rattanakosin Rajabhat Universities network. The program also included several learning base activities, such as:

• “PNRU Following the Letters – Decoding the Message” practical workshop
• “Tracing Historical Narratives” at the King Rama V Monument
• “Flourishing History” at the 100 Years of Thai Teacher Training Museum
• “Opportunity of Faith” at the Ganesha Shrine
• “Infinity of the City” at the King Rama VIII Monument
• “Royal Grace of the Capital” featuring bas-relief artwork of two monarchs

Additional activities included the “Rattanakosin Leadership Sports for Relationship Building”, group discussions, and planning sessions for the “Rattanakosin 5 Rajabhat Volunteer Camp for Local Development.”

The seminar took place February 19–21, 2026. On February 20, participants conducted volunteer activities at Wat Tamnak Nuea School, located in Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, where they improved school facilities, including renovating school signage, repairing the takraw court, and upgrading the playground.

On the final day, February 21, participants joined a merit-making ceremony, the activity “Faith and Merit of the Five Rajabhat Universities of the Rattanakosin Group,” followed by recreational activities, a concluding meeting, and the handover for organizing the next Rattanakosin 5 Rajabhat Local Development Volunteer Camp.

This activity also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, particularly:

Goal 4: Quality Education – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
