???????????? Kongpop from Suan Sunandha Crowned Thailand Sumo Champion 2025

Mr. Kongpop Janjoy, a second-year student in the Sport and Health Science Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, has achieved a remarkable victory as the Thailand National Sumo Champion 2025 in the heavyweight division (over 115 kg).

???? The competition took place at La Providence Activity Area, Assumption College Lampang during the 6th Thailand Youth, Junior & Public Sumo Championships, held from May 3–4, 2025.

In an intense bout lasting under one minute, Kongpop—representing Thailand’s national sumo team (senior level)—defeated his opponent from Thailand National Sports University, Udon Thani Campus, with swift strategy, observation, and mental agility.

???????? ???? Looking Ahead: World Sumo Championships 2025

Originally from Lopburi Province, Kongpop has been a part of the Thai national youth sumo team since the age of 11, previously winning bronze in the Youth Amateur Sumo Tournament in Japan. Now, he is set to represent Thailand on the global stage at the World Sumo Championships 2025, which will be hosted by Thailand for the first time:
