Suan Sunandha Joins Forces with ECT to Empower Students as High-Quality Democratic Citizens
On Monday, June 22, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, the Student Activities and Alumni Affairs Department under the Student Development Division at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University partnered with the Civic Participation Promotion Center 1 of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT). Together, they hosted the "Quality Citizenship Enhancement Training Project for Student Leaders" at the Woralaksanang Conference Room, 3rd Floor of the Suan Sunandha Health and Sports Center Building, Bangkok Campus.
Assistant Professor Dr. Somsak Klaysung, Vice President for Student Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony. The university was honored to welcome Miss Phattra Jongruerob, Representative of the Director of the Civic Participation Promotion Center 1, along with a team of expert speakers from the ECT who shared their valuable knowledge.
The primary goal of the seminar was to instill social responsibility, cultivate respect for human rights and civic duties, promote justice, and encourage constructive community development. Crucially, the initiative aimed to champion democracy within the educational institution, building a proper understanding of the Democratic Regime of Government with the King as Head of State, as well as fostering high-quality citizenship. The event brought together 50 core representatives from the Student Organization, the Student Council, and the general student body.

The intensive program focused on three essential dimensions of civic responsibility:
- Democratic Principles: Understanding the foundations of the Democratic Regime of Government with the King as Head of State.
- Quality Citizenship: Cultivating the personal values, morals, and habits required of an impactful citizen.
- Political Participation: Learning how citizens can actively, lawfully, and constructively engage in political and social development.
