Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University Holds “Wai Kru” Ceremony to Present Floral Tributes and Express Gratitude to Teachers for the Academic Year 2025

On Thursday, August 7, 2025, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, through the Student Development Division, organized the Wai Kru (Teacher Appreciation) Ceremony for the academic year 2025 at the Suan Sunandha Health and Sports Center, 4th Floor, Bangkok, starting at 08:00 AM. The ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutikarn Sriviboon, President of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutikarn Sriviboon remarked:
"Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University places great importance on continuing the tradition of the Wai Kru ceremony. This longstanding Thai tradition is highly valued in society as it demonstrates respect and gratitude toward teachers who impart knowledge. The ceremony also strengthens the relationship between teachers and students, reminding students of the importance of education."

"Moreover, it is an opportunity for students to show respect and gratitude to their teachers who provide knowledge and guidance. The ceremony fosters positive relationships and mutual understanding between teachers and students. Wai Kru is a cherished part of Thai culture that should be preserved and passed on. It is believed that paying sincere respects during the ceremony brings prosperity and success in education while motivating teachers in their work of teaching and mentoring students. Therefore, the Wai Kru ceremony holds great value and significance in Thai society, expressing gratitude and promoting harmonious teacher-student relationships," the President concluded.

"The atmosphere of the Wai Kru ceremony is both sacred and warm, with students presenting garlands to their teachers in a unified show of respect and gratitude."

This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, with sub-goals covering access to quality education for both boys and girls at all levels.
