SSRU Joins Working Committee Workshop and Gen Z Leadership Camp to Drive Smoke-Free Higher Education Institutions

On May 21, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Grand Richmond Hotel in Nonthaburi Province, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University's Student Development Division, through the Student Discipline and Wellbeing Department, participated in the Upper Central Region Working Committee Workshop and Gen Z Leadership Camp for a Smoke-Free Society. The event is scheduled from May 21 to 23, 2026. Assistant Professor Dr. Somsak Klaysung, Vice President for Student Affairs, assigned Ms. Anchalee Kanju, Head of the Student Discipline and Wellbeing Department, to attend the event, which was officially opened by Professor Dr. Parichart Sthapitanonda, Vice President of Chulalongkorn University.

A key highlight of the first day was a panel discussion titled "Thai Youth Health Crisis: E-Cigarettes as a Major Threat Under Social Trends." The distinguished panel featured:

  • Dr. Wanchat Suppachuturas, Vice Chairman of the Higher Education Institution Development Project
  • Lecturer Pharm. Kritin Bunditanukul, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University
  • Dr. Chanchai Sittipunt, Committee Member of the Health Professional Alliance for a Tobacco-Free Thailand
  • Associate Professor Dr. Jintana Yunibhand, Director of the National Quitline (1600)

The panel was moderated by Mr. Somchai Toh-eesor, a psychologist and counseling specialist from the Health Professional Alliance for a Smoke-Free Thai Society.

Furthermore, the workshop featured an insightful knowledge-sharing session on "Tobacco and E-Cigarette Control Laws and Everyday Enforcement," presented by Mr. Jirawat Yoosabay, Deputy Director of the Tobacco Products Control Committee Division.

The program continued with the "Check For Startup Smoke-Free U." activity, which focused on reviewing the current progress and operational status of tobacco-free and e-cigarette-free higher education institutions, also moderated by Mr. Somchai Toh-eesor.

The day concluded with highly engaging personal development and networking sessions, including:

  • Ice Breaking activities.
  • "Human Hack & Unlock Mindset": A session blending behavioral modification techniques and cognitive unlocking to break through limitations and foster personal and professional success.
  • "Shareable... Listen-able" (แชร์ได้...ฟังเป็น) communication workshop.
  • "Class Stage Power: Speak Well, Play Big, Win Hearts and Deliver Clarity" (พูดเป็น เล่นใหญ่ ได้ใจได้ความ) public speaking workshop, conducted by expert trainers from Storm Coach.
