Joining the Youth Forum to Exchange Creative Perspectives on Sexuality – THE S-EXPERT “Meet the Guru, Let’s Talk Sex – Don’t Miss It”
Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University participated in a youth forum aimed at promoting creative and constructive discussions on sexuality through the activity The S-Expert: “Meet the Guru, Let’s Talk Sex – Don’t Miss It.” The event emphasized that sexuality is not a distant or shameful topic, but rather a matter of knowledge and responsibility. With proper understanding, individuals can protect themselves, know their health status, and prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs), helping Thai youth develop appropriate and healthy sexual well-being.
On January 27, 2026, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, led by the Division of Student Development, participated in the event. Assistant Professor Dr. Somsak KlaiSang, Vice President for Student Affairs, assigned Ms. Anchalee Kanchu, Head of the Discipline and Student Wellness Division, together with Mr. Attasit Nikornwat, staff member of the Discipline and Student Wellness Division, to lead students in attending the seminar titled The S-Expert: “Meet the Guru, Let’s Talk Sex – Don’t Miss It.”
The event was organized by the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, and was officially opened by Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health. Distinguished attendees included Dr. Sophon Iamsirithaworn, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health; Dr. Lertlak Leelaruengsaeng, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration; Dr. Montien Kanasawat, Director-General of the Department of Disease Control; along with ministry executives, teachers, students, and over 250 participants.
The event served as an important platform providing teenagers and youth with access to accurate and creative sexual education. Participants learned about safe sex practices, proper condom use, and HIV self-testing. Early knowledge of one’s HIV status leads to early treatment, better quality of life, and reduced transmission to others. The forum also encouraged a shift in perspective—sexual health is not something to be embarrassed about, but an essential health matter that should be openly discussed.
Additionally, the event featured a panel discussion titled “Safe Sex, No Risk,” delivering accessible sexual health knowledge through influencers and sexual health experts. The discussion reinforced that sexual health is part of overall health, and knowing one’s HIV status is key to self-care. The campaign promoted condom use and HIV self-testing, while introducing convenient and private access to condoms and HIV self-test kits through the LINE application “Stand by You” and the Paotang application—supporting early awareness, early care, and safer sexual well-being.
