
Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University congratulates "Leo" Mr. Korawich Muangprasert, a first-year student in the Sports Management Innovation Program under the College of Innovation and Management, on earning a major milestone in his football career after being named among the 26 players in the Thailand Men's National Under-20 Football Team. The squad is preparing for the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers, hosted by Thailand from August 31 to September 6, 2026, in Chonburi Province.
"Leo" Korawich Muangprasert, a rising right-back wearing jersey number 5 for Prime Bangkok and currently a freshman in Sports Management Innovation at the College of Innovation and Management, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, was included in the 26-man roster announced by the Football Association of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King. Led by Head Coach "Coach Bo" Jakkapan Punpee, the squad is gearing up for this significant Asian-level tournament.
Korawich expressed, "I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to participate in this training camp. It represents another major milestone toward becoming a professional footballer, which has always been my goal. Regarding my studies, I will manage my time carefully. If there are training camps or travel for competitions, I will stay updated on coursework with my professors and classmates, planning my academic and match schedules to ensure my studies remain on track."
"My ultimate goal is to become a professional footballer and earn the chance to play in an overseas league to further elevate my skill level while bringing pride to our nation. My family serves as my strongest motivation—especially my parents, who have continuously supported and encouraged me. Therefore, I am determined to do my absolute best to achieve success in my football career and support my family in the future," Korawich added.
Prior to entering official competition, the Thailand U20 national team will undergo a second training camp and play warm-up matches from July 27 to August 2, 2026. All players are scheduled to report to Dynamic Football Camp in Samut Prakan on July 27 at 2:00 PM to build physical conditioning and tactical readiness ahead of the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers.
For the qualifying tournament, the Thailand U20 national team has been drawn into Group F alongside the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkmenistan, and Iraq in a round-robin format. The top team from each of the 8 groups, along with the 7 best runner-up teams, will advance to the AFC U20 Asian Cup™ China 2027 in the People's Republic of China in early 2027. That tournament will serve as the qualifier to select 4 Asian representative nations for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
