Holds Merit-Making Alms-Giving and
Public Service Activities in
Commemoration of "Navamindra
Maharaj Day"
Bangkok – On October 8, 2026, the Student Activities and Alumni Affairs Division of the Student Development Division, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, organized a Buddhist chanting and alms-giving ceremony to dedicate royal merit to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on the occasion of "Navamindra Maharaj Day" for Academic Year 2026. The ceremony was held at the 1st Floor of the Office of the President Building, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutikarn Sriviboon, President of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, presided over the event, accompanied by university executives, faculty, staff, and students who gathered in full attendance.
The proceedings commenced at 7:00 AM with a Buddhist chanting ceremony performed by 10 venerable monks from Wat Rajathiwat Wihan, led by Phra Thep Wisutthiyan (Thawin Kantasiri), Assistant Abbot of Wat Rajathiwat Wihan. Following the chanting, attendees participated in offering dry food and rice to the monks in front of the Office of the President Building to dedicate as royal merit.
Upon completion of the religious ceremony, the Suan Sunandha community engaged in volunteer activities, cleaning and maintaining the campus grounds to ensure orderliness and contribute to the public good.
This event reflected the collaborative spirit of the university community in sustaining socially beneficial activities while instilling morality, public consciousness, and civic responsibility. Beyond honoring the memory of the late monarch on Navamindra Maharaj Day, the occasion provided an opportunity for administrators, staff, and students to demonstrate loyalty, uphold the value of good deeds, and actively contribute to the community, fostering a culture of public spirit and mutual support across Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.
